Check-ups

CHECK-UPS

Regular check-ups are advised to complement a good daily oral health routine and provide a preventative approach to dental issues. Our dentists take the time to understand your lifestyle, past treatments and procedures and talk through any concerns you have.

At Green Bay Dental, we know that every smile is unique and strive to nurture the important relationship between you and your dentist. We understand that a trip to the dentist can cause apprehension, so building a relationship of trust between our dentists and you can help calm nerves and put anxieties to rest.

What does a check-up include?

On your first visit, your dentist may take an x-ray of your teeth called a panex. A panex x-ray can be invaluable for ascertaining the current landscape of your jaw. The examination includes examining the health of the soft tissue in your mouth (cheeks and tongue), checking your gums for any signs of gum disease, removing any plaque or harmful tartar, and providing guidance on continued and improved dental care.

What are the benefits of regular check-ups?

Check-ups help to:
  • Prevent gum disease
  • Maintain good oral health
  • Prevent halitosis (bad breath)
  • Retain your teeth
  • Keep a whiter, brighter smile
  • look for signs of other oral health issues such as impacted wisdom teeth, abscesses, cysts...

How often should I have a check-up?

Our dentists will advise how often you should have your teeth checked as part of your oral care routine. This will depend on your individual needs. Most people schedule a dental check-up once a year. You and your dentist will discuss the most suitable frequency for general check-ups and work out a date and time that suits you.

We listen to what you want and advise you on what you need.
