EXTRACTIONS

Our dental team will always work hard to save your natural teeth, and we will explore every possible option for treatment before recommending that you have a natural tooth removed.

We understand that tooth removal can be upsetting. Still, we want to assure you that our team will go out of our way to ensure your tooth is removed painlessly with minimal stress.

Once the tooth is removed, we may leave the socket to heal on its own, or our dentist might choose to place some stitches. You might feel some temporary discomfort as the socket heals, but this should quickly pass. Our dental team will give you precise written and oral instructions on how to care for the empty socket site and how to keep it clean as it heals.

Please don’t worry if you face losing a tooth and are concerned about having a gap.
We can discuss ways to temporarily and then permanently restore your tooth so you won’t be left without a smile.

Oral Surgery

Most people will, at some stage, need to have their wisdom teeth extracted. In most cases, we can do the extractions in the surgery. However, as wisdom teeth sometimes become impacted, oral surgery may be required to remove them. Patients find that IV sedation is very helpful during this procedure.

We may have to refer you to a specialist in a few cases if the wisdom teeth are very impacted or difficult to remove.
